The delivery of the US-made system has been delivered earlier and been in use for a month. At a press conference, Zelenskyj says that two more air defense systems will be delivered to Ukraine during the autumn, reports AFP.
Zelenskyj's statement on Saturday came after he returned to Kyiv from New York, where he spoke before the UN General Assembly and had a meeting with, among others, US President Donald Trump.
The message that Israel has delivered air defense shows a certain change in attitude in Israel, as the country has previously chosen to remain neutral in the Russian full-scale invasion war in Ukraine. Israel has, however, distanced itself from the Kremlin since Russia has approached Iran and condemned the Israeli warfare in Gaza.
At Saturday's press meeting, Zelenskyj also said that Kyiv has presented a list of weapons that they want to acquire from the US to a value of approximately 90 billion dollars, closer to 850 billion kronor.
