The military's Commander-in-Chief Syrskyj said that Ukraine's purely defensive stance against the invading power Russia is no longer tenable.
We cannot just sit and defend ourselves. It gives us nothing, and in the long run leads to us having to retreat, we lose personnel and territories, said Syrskyj in a conversation with reporters. The content of the conversation was published on Sunday.
Syrskyj emphasized that Ukrainian attacks on military targets in Russia have been effective. At the same time, he noted, in the conversation with journalists, that Russia has an advantage when it comes to drone attacks – and especially the new generation of fiber-optic drones that are difficult for the Ukrainian military to disrupt,
There, they unfortunately have an advantage in terms of numbers and how far the drones can reach, said Syrskyj.
The military chief also claimed that the Ukrainian military still held positions in areas in Russian Kursk, which was besieged in an offensive in August last year. In a counter-offensive, the Russian military has recaptured areas in the region.
