Zelenskyy writes on X that one goal of the negotiations is to raise the issue of peace at the leadership level.
“President Trump supports this train order,” Zelenskyy continues.
On Thursday, a Ukrainian delegation will meet with US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff in Geneva, Switzerland, for talks about the Russian war of aggression. The Ukrainian group is led by Rustem Umyrov of Ukraine's Security and Defense Council.
The Kremlin says a Russian representative is traveling to the meeting in Geneva.
Previous negotiations in Geneva and Abu Dhabi have not led to results.
