Ukrainian authorities are forcibly evacuating 3,000 children and their parents from 44 towns and villages along the front line in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

“Due to the difficult security situation, the decision was made to forcibly evacuate,” Oleksiy Kuleba, the minister responsible for Ukraine's reconstruction, wrote on Telegram.

Evacuations are underway at the same time in Chernihiv, near the border with Belarus.

“A total of 150,000 people have been evacuated from the front to safer areas since June 1 last year. Among them are nearly 18,000 children,” Kuleba wrote.
