“It has been a great honor to serve the Ukrainian people as Minister of Defense,” Fedorov writes on Telegram.

According to a source with insight into the Kyiv Independent newspaper, current Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko has been offered the post of next defense minister.

The announcement is part of a broader reshuffle in Ukraine's government. On Sunday, Zelensky announced that outgoing Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko would be leaving her post.

Zelensky has described Serhiy Koretsky, head of the state energy company Naftogaz, as the "best prepared" to take over as prime minister.

In January this year, Zelenskyy reshuffled the government following corruption allegations.
