Nearly 300 flights have been cancelled during the day - and the problems affect both incoming and outgoing flights.
"Technicians have identified the problem, and are working to resolve it," British Transport Minister Heidi Alexander wrote in a statement on X.
Major airports Heathrow and Gatwick, as well as those in the Midlands and Manchester, are among the many airports affected by the problems.
