The decision was made at a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee on Thursday and was published on the UEFA website.

The reason is that FIFA has given assurances that it has given up plans to sell shares in the World Cup.

It was earlier this summer that FIFA proposed selling shares in the World Cup to private investors.

The proposal triggered a wave of criticism against FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Among other things, UEFA member countries agreed to boycott FIFA competitions.

But that boycott is now being put on hold.

"This position will be kept under review and may be reconsidered immediately if circumstances so require," UEFA wrote.
