It is exactly 50 years since Larry Mullen Jr. posted a handwritten note on the bulletin board at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin with the text “Drummer seeks musicians to form band.”
Now Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Mullen Jr. are ready with the band's 16th studio album and the first with new material in nine years.
The song “Silencio” is already out, along with a music video shot in Mexico City earlier this year. The closing track “Torn,” a tender country song about broken family ties, is a duet between Bono and Dolly Parton - her last recorded vocal performance.
