Just over a week after the noted murder of right-wing debater Charlie Kirk, new information is emerging regarding the arrest of the suspected perpetrator, Tyler Robinson. After a massive police hunt, he chose to surrender himself at a police station.
According to Nate Brooksby, sheriff, Robinson chose to come to the police station to avoid an intervention from the task force – and thus risk being shot dead.
He did not want a large task force at his parents' house or his apartment, said the sheriff at a press conference on Wednesday.
He was really afraid of being shot by the police.
According to Nate Brooksby, the arrest was undramatic. When Tyler Robinson arrived at the police station last Thursday, he was calm and had both his parents with him.
Right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk was shot dead last week when he spoke in front of a crowd at Utah Valley University in the USA.
The murder has received significant attention in the USA and Kirk is said to have been a contributing factor to many young Americans choosing to vote for Donald Trump in last year's election.
