The two men who were prosecuted for murder, alternatively complicity in murder of the 45-year-old, were 17 and 18 years old at the time of the incident.

Both are convicted of serious weapons offenses since the district court has found that they after the murder hid a pistol in a thicket near the 17-year-old's residence in Fruängen.

"The handling of the weapon was at the same time the strongest evidence that they were also involved in the murder. However, there was no evidence that linked them to the shooting or the crime scene. The other evidence was not sufficient to convict them of having committed the murder or assisted another in committing the murder", the district court writes in a press release.

The 17-year-old's brother has also been suspected in the case but could not be prosecuted as he could not be reached by the police.

The 18-year-old is sentenced to prison for four years. The 17-year-old is sentenced to closed youth care for 1 year and 2 months.

The 17-year-old is also convicted of narcotics offense, which concerned possession and transfer of cocaine.
