Police were called at 3:30 p.m. to the Södervärn district of Malmö after a traffic accident. According to Sydsvenskan, a girl was hit while using a pedestrian crossing.
The police confirm that a 15-year-old girl has died in hospital and that the driver of the car, a man in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated manslaughter and gross negligence in traffic.
Video footage from the accident has been distributed on social media, the police say, and a report of unlawful invasion of privacy has been filed, making further distribution of the footage illegal.
