Several people were evacuated as a result of the incident, and one of them, a man in his mid-20s, has told the police that he was the one who started the fire.
The man is suspected of arson and has been taken to hospital for treatment. The other person taken to hospital is said to have serious injuries.
According to police, 36 people were helped into the subway early this morning, which became a temporary gathering place after the fire. Most have since been allowed to return to their homes.
Most people can return, except for a few on the affected floor. They are at a nearby elementary school, says Per Fahlström, press spokesman for the Stockholm Regional Police.
The fire alarm was called in at 4:14 a.m. Monday. The fire was extinguished around 5 a.m.
