Two small planes collide and crash in northeastern Austria, killing two people

The collision occurred near an airfield on Monday morning, the APA news agency reports.

Fires broke out among the wreckage on the ground. Two people have died, according to the newspaper Krone. According to initial reports, the pilots of the two planes were the only people involved.

The airfield is located near the town of Langenlois, just over fifty kilometers northwest of the capital, Vienna.
