The accident occurred at 18:30 on Saturday in Österfärnebo.
It's a car that went off the road and crashed into a pole, a tree or something similar in the ditch, and rolled over. Two people, the driver and passenger, were in the car, both were seriously injured, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson for the police in Region Mitt.
One person was flown to the hospital by ambulance helicopter, the other was taken by ambulance.
The weather is bad and several traffic accidents have occurred in Region Mitt. The police are urging drivers to be extra cautious on the roads.
We have two accidents right now on E18 where cars have gone off the road but without injuries. The patrol's reaction was that it was extremely slippery on E18 and in large parts of Västmanland, Uppsala, and Gävleborg counties, it seems to be very slippery road conditions. There is snow-mixed rain and freezing temperatures, says Jansson Klarin.
