A man in Helsingborg was kidnapped and held captive for a whole day in February. Now a man and a woman are sentenced to prison for five years for, among other things, kidnapping and attempted extortion, reports P4 Malmöhus.

The background is said to have been that the man and the woman, who knew the victim, wanted to get him to tell who had murdered the woman's brother several years earlier.

During a day, the man was threatened with a knife in a forest, assaulted in an apartment and driven to the murdered brother's grave. He was also pressed for money. The man managed to escape after a day and was able to alert the police.

The man and the woman deny having kidnapped and extorted the man.
