Pittsburgh took control of the game again, thanks in large part to their Swedish players. Rickard Rakell had a goal and an assist, and teammate Erik Karlsson added another goal in the second period.

However, visiting Philadelphia equalized three times. After a 3–3 tie in regulation, Philadelphia goalkeeper Daniel Vladar was ejected in overtime.

However, Philadelphia sorted out the situation and later won in a shootout.
