Four people have lost their lives during Wednesday's big celebration in Mexico City after the Mexican national team secured a place in the round of 16 of the World Cup, according to Mexican authorities.
Two women, aged 19 and 48, and a 44-year-old man died of asphyxiation in the commotion, the city's health minister said on Wednesday morning, Swedish time. A few hours later, the health minister announced that a man in his 30s had also died.
Hundreds of thousands of people attended the celebrations in the Mexican capital.
Mexico won the match against Ecuador 2-0.
