Already in the first curve of the initial lap of the British supersport championship race in British Cheshire, the accident occurred. A total of eleven drivers were involved in the mass crash and two, 21-year-old Owen Jenner and 29-year-old Shane Richardson, died.
Another driver is being cared for at the hospital with serious injuries, while five others received treatment on site for minor injuries.
"Due to the event's extremely serious nature and medical efforts, the rest of the event were cancelled", writes the organizer Motorsport Vision Racing in a statement.
The accident is now being investigated.
