Ukraine's new Defense Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, has described several major problems within the country's armed forces that he hopes to address.

Ukraine has a shortage of soldiers at the front.

In an unusually detailed statement, Fedorov specifies that two million Ukrainians are wanted for evading mobilization, reports the Kyiv Independent.

In addition, 200,000 conscripted soldiers are classified as AWOL, meaning they left their posts without permission.

Fedorov also highlights problems with bureaucracy within the military, outdated command structures, and shortages in weapons deliveries and other key supplies to the front.

Our goal is to change the system, implement reforms in the army, improve infrastructure at the front, eradicate lies and corruption, and instill leadership and a new culture built on trust.

Fedorov said this in a speech in parliament, according to the Kyiv Independent.
