The two men are suspected of having sought perpetrators of violent crimes on digital platforms in both Sweden and Denmark, the police write in a press release.

The arrest was made in cooperation with Danish police and is one of several arrests within the framework of an international police cooperation between Europol and eight European countries.

Earlier this year, a Swedish recruiter was arrested in Australia, and last year a Swedish recruiter was arrested in Spain.

The police describe the problem of digital recruitment to violent crimes as extensive and believe that platform owners can do more to remove violence-driving content.

”They have the technology to do so and when it comes to the safety of our children, both authorities and private actors such as tech companies must be on the same team”, says Theodor Smedius, police superintendent at Noa, in the press release.
