The attack was carried out last Friday in the eastern Pacific Ocean, according to the military, and is one of a series of US attacks against alleged "narco-terrorists" in the Pacific and Caribbean Seas.
According to AFP, a total of 182 people have now been killed in the attacks, which have been ongoing since last autumn. At least seven attacks have been carried out in April.
No evidence has been presented to prove that the boats were used for drug trafficking, and critics have questioned whether the attacks were legal.
