Two men have been killed in Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon, the country's health authority reports on Friday.

According to the state-run Lebanese news agency National News Agency (NNA), a man was "attacked by an Israeli drone" when he was driving on a road near Nabatieh.

Israel's military says in a statement that it "struck and eliminated" the man, who it claims was a commander in the Shia militia Hezbollah.

The second person is, according to the health authority, said to have been killed in the same area when a projectile hit his car. Another person was injured.

Also in this case, the Israeli military claims that a Hezbollah member was attacked.

Despite the fact that Israel and Hezbollah entered into a ceasefire in November last year, Israel has continued to repeatedly bomb targets in Lebanon, mainly in the southern parts but also in the capital Beirut. Israel also has several outposts in southern Lebanon, in contravention of the agreement.

In September this year, the Lebanese military stated that Israel had breached the ceasefire 4,500 times.
