Two people died in Saturday's head-on collision on road 515 outside Enköping. Another person, an elderly man, is being treated in hospital.
The deceased are a man and a woman, both in their 70s.
The accident is being investigated as gross negligence in traffic and causing another person's death, the police write on their website. However, no one has been suspected of a crime.
The vehicles involved have been seized.
