A major search effort, with boats from the Swedish Maritime Rescue Society and the Coast Guard, as well as helicopters from the Swedish Maritime Administration and the police, was launched to find them.
At 9 o'clock, the Swedish Maritime Administration announced that the kayakers had been found on an island between Svartlöga and Lidö. Both are doing well.
They had simply paddled to a different island than they thought they were heading for, says Mikael Bergström, air rescue leader at the Swedish Maritime Administration.
