Police were alerted on Tuesday afternoon that two men had been found injured in Gamlegården in Kristianstad. They were taken to hospital.
"A sharp weapon was used," police spokesman Patric Fors said.
The men, one in his 20s and the other 25, are seriously injured, according to Region Skåne.
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder.
According to Kristianstadsbladet, the doors to the hospital's emergency room have been locked, a routine measure when there is a threat. Police also have a patrol on site at the hospital.
