The fire has been extinguished and inspections of apartments have begun in the service housing in Sunne that was ravaged by fire during the night. Some residents have been able to return to their homes.

We have initiated a transport for those we have assessed can come back. It will continuously continue when we have secured several apartments ahead, says Håkan Andersson, residual value leader to P4 Värmland.

The alarm about the fire came in at 02.48 during the night towards Thursday. According to SOS Alarm, the fire spread to the attic along a approximately hundred meter long stretch. At 6 o'clock, the fire was under control.

Two people were taken to hospital. One of them is being treated for serious injuries while the other has been able to leave the hospital, reports local media.

Approximately 90 people were evacuated first to a church and then to a nearby hotel.

Rescue service personnel from Sunne, Gräsmark, Munkfors and Torsby as well as several management resources participated in the operation, according to Värmlands Folkblad.

The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into aggravated arson. There is no suspect.

At present, there is nothing to suggest that a crime has been committed, says the police's press spokesperson Christina Hallin.
