Two Helicopters Collide Near Everest Base Camp, Killing Indian Tourist and Injuring Two

Two helicopters collided on Tuesday while trying to land just below Mount Everest’s base camp in Nepal. At least one person has died and two have been injured.

The accident occurred near the village of Pheriche, which is at an altitude of 4,200 metres. The helicopters were reportedly transporting hikers who had reached Mount Everest base camp.

According to authorities, a 47-year-old tourist from India died in the crash, and another passenger, from New Zealand, was taken to a hospital in the capital, Kathmandu. A Nepalese pilot was also injured but received treatment at the scene.

It is unclear how many people were on board the helicopters.
