According to the police, the balcony railing appears to have given way when two people leaned against it.
An ambulance, police and rescue services were sent to the scene at 6:15 p.m.
The people fell from a second-floor balcony. One of them, a man in his 40s, is seriously injured, Region Skåne reported around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The apartment in question is located in central Staffanstorp, where there are festivities and a market taking place this weekend.
A criminal investigation into suspected bodily harm has been initiated.
