Two people have been killed and about ten injured in a shooting on the Greek tourist island of Crete.

The incident is suspected to be linked to a family feud, police said, according to local media.

The victims are a 39-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman. AK-47 assault rifles and shotguns are believed to have been used in the shooting in the remote mountain village of Vorizia.

The incident occurred on Saturday, a few hours after an explosive device exploded at a building site on Friday, reports the television channel ERT.

According to ERT, the incident stems from a long-standing dispute between two families, which has previously argued over grazing land. The conflict flared up last year when a member of one family bought a piece of land in an area controlled by the other. It was on that land that Friday's explosion took place.
