Two brothers were killed when Israel carried out an air raid in southern Lebanon on Monday, the country's health authority announced. The attack took place in the city of al-Bayyad in the province of Tyre.

The Israeli military states in a statement that they have targeted an arms dealer working for the Shia militia Hezbollah and another who "helped with the group's attempts to rebuild its military capability".

Lebanese leaders have accused Israel of wanting to prevent the reconstruction of the region, which was largely destroyed during last year's war.

Despite Israel and Hezbollah agreeing to a ceasefire in November last year, Israel has continued to repeatedly bomb targets in Lebanon, mainly in the southern parts but also in the capital Beirut. Israel also has several outposts in southern Lebanon, in contravention of the agreement.

In recent weeks, the Israeli military has stepped up its attacks on Lebanese territory and in recent days carried out several deadly attacks, including on Sunday when three people were killed.
