The two brothers, a 22-year-old engineering student and his two-year-younger brother, are citizens of Italy and Morocco. They were arrested on Tuesday in northern France, according to the anti-terrorism prosecutor.

In their car, police found semi-automatic weapons, a bottle of hydrochloric acid, aluminum foil and an IS flag.

During police questioning, the brothers confessed that they had planned to carry out a terrorist attack in France and then die as martyrs.
