During Thursday evening, a fire started in a staircase in an apartment building after flammable liquid was thrown on a residential door and ignited. The same thing happened on Friday evening at another address in central Norrköping.
It's roughly equivalent to instead of a bomb, someone has tried to set fire to the apartment doors, but fortunately, the fire didn't spread and the rescue services managed to put it out in time, says Viktor Bergman, commander at Police Region East.
A man in his late teens was arrested after Thursday's arson attack and is now detained, suspected of aggravated arson.
We haven't detained anyone after Friday's incident, but we're handling it as a matter within the gang environment, it's not directed at just anyone, says Viktor Bergman.
The police have initiated a preliminary investigation regarding attempted aggravated arson for Friday's incident as well.
