"It is very early in the investigation and we are working to clarify the course of events through technical investigation and interrogation. It is currently not possible to rule out that there may be more people involved in this," says Chamber Prosecutor Hanna Rosqvist in a press release.
The individuals are suspected, on probable grounds, of a serious violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.
A large area in central Gothenburg was cordoned off on Sunday evening while the objects, later determined to be sharp objects, were examined and retrieved by the bomb squad. They were found near the Nordstan bus stop.
