The third-ranked American Coco Gauff is easily through to the second round of the US Open tennis.
The 20-year-old title defender in the Grand Slam tournament had no problems in the first round and knocked out Varvara Gratjeva in two straight sets, 6–2, 6–0.
I tried to enjoy it, these are the moments you live for, I'm glad to be back. Today was the best tennis I've played in a while, says Gauff in the post-match interview.
In the second round, the American will face Tatjana Maria, Germany.
