The program has been called the "largest cooking show in history". One hundred chefs – from food truck owners to fine dining aspirants – are divided into different brigades to compete against each other in challenges that test both skill, creativity and team spirit.
"100 Knives" is a format that really stands out in the noise. Competition, dreams, emotions and food – it's a powerful mix that we know engages and we look forward to sharing it with our audience, says TV4's channel and content manager Fredrik Arefalk to Deadline.
The program series will be produced by Mastiff. According to Matilda Snöwall, CEO of Mastiff Sweden, oversized formats with strong emotional efforts are something that appeals to the TV audience.
We all know that professional kitchens are a breeding ground for tension and drama. "100 Knives" takes that intensity and scales it up to enormous proportions, she says.
TT has contacted TV4 which confirms that the channel has purchased the program concept and adds: "we look forward to being able to tell more soon".
