The Turkish Air Force shot down the drone outside a built-up area “to avoid serious consequences,” the Defense Ministry said. There is no information on which country sent the drone.
The incident comes just days after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned that the Black Sea had become "a confrontation site" in the Ukraine war.
Last week, two Turkish ships were attacked in the Black Sea in as many days. Those attacks occurred in connection with Russian attacks on Ukraine.
