The new rules have been issued by the Turkish civil aviation authority.

"This behavior endangers the safety of passengers and luggage," the authority writes.

The crew on flights arriving in Turkey is now urged to make an announcement that it is strictly forbidden to stand up, open baggage compartments or be in the aircraft has parked and the seatbelt sign has been turned off.

High fines are involved.

According to a report from the International Air Transport Association, a global industry organization for airlines, failure to follow instructions from cabin staff was the most common type of disruptive passenger behavior in 2023.
