Turkey has discovered a gas deposit of 75 billion cubic meters during test drilling in the Black Sea.

With this amount, we will be able to meet the natural gas needs of just our homes for around 3.5 years, says the country's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan during an event in Istanbul.

The discovery has an estimated value of 30 billion dollars, corresponding to around 300 billion kronor.

Turkey has discovered several gas deposits in the Black Sea in recent years, including a find of around 405 billion cubic meters.

Turkey has also searched for gas deposits in the Mediterranean, which has led to a war of words between Turkey and the EU, as these have been carried out near the divided Cyprus.
