The company will instead focus on other markets. In just a week, it will be sold out in Sweden, reports Folkbladet.

"I have sold Tupperware for 22 years and it has been a big part of my life these years. I am so sad and disappointed", writes a salesperson in Västerbotten on social media, according to the newspaper.

Tupperware has been doing poorly financially for a long time. Tupperware Brands applied for bankruptcy protection in the USA in September and lenders have come together and formed a new company that has bought up Tupperware. The company is opening up for a return to Europe at a later stage.

The company was founded by Earl Tupper in 1946 and has achieved great success over the years, including through so-called Tupperware Parties, where a host or hostess invites friends over to demonstrate the products.
