On Monday evening, several media outlets reported, citing Reuters, that Sabri Lamouchi had been fired. The news agency referred to a Tunisian Instagram account, and according to reports, the federation will communicate the decision on Tuesday.
"I was very shocked when I heard that, but we can't attach too much importance to it," says Mattias Svanberg.
The national team's assistant coach, Sebastian Larsson, also reacted to Lamouchi's fate.
"First of all, it's unusual for a national team to be affected by its captain leaving his post one match into a championship. It doesn't happen very often," he says.
