Tuchel Unhappy with England's Performance in Narrow Win Over Andorra

England's new national team coach Thomas Tuchel is dissatisfied with his star-studded team after the narrow 1–0 win against Andorra in the World Championship qualifying. We didn't take it seriously enough, says Tuchel, according to The Guardian.

It almost turned into a classic disaster for England, which is aiming for the World Championship gold in North America next year, but team captain Harry Kane saved the honor with the only goal of the match five minutes into the second half.

However, a 1–0 win over Andorra, ranked 173 in the world ranking, does not impress national team coach Thomas Tuchel, who tore apart his players' performance.

I don't like the attitude we had at the end of the match, says the German coach.

I think we lacked intensity and the precision needed in a World Championship qualifier. I don't like the body language and it was not in parity with what is required, continues Tuchel.

England came to play with top stars like Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Harry Kane in the starting lineup, but had a very hard time creating anything against Andorra. The World Championship qualifiers in June will come after a long league season that has tired out the players in top clubs, but Thomas Tuchel waves away this explanation.

We can and must do better over 90 minutes, he says.

We lacked strength. We must acknowledge this and not talk it away, continues he.

England is still leading its World Championship qualifying group and is undefeated after three matches. The next match in the qualifying round is the return match against Andorra on September 6 in Birmingham.
