A tsunami warning was issued on Sunday after an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 occurred approximately 10 miles off Tonga in the Pacific Ocean.
The American Pacific Tsunami Warning Center withdrew warnings about tsunami waves within 30 miles from the earthquake's epicenter after a few hours.
However, local authorities in Tonga are still advising the population to exercise caution.
There are no reports of injuries after the earthquake that occurred on Monday morning local time.
Tonga consists of 171 islands with approximately 100,000 inhabitants. The nation was affected by a volcanic eruption in January 2022 and a subsequent tsunami that, according to the UN, affected over 80 percent of Tonga's population.
