TSMC has invested hundreds of billions of kronor in factories in Arizona, where the company began mass production at the end of last year. The new investments are intended, according to Trump, to expand the production of advanced chips further.

Among other things, TSMC will build at least three new factories in Arizona.

Donald Trump has emphasized the importance of increasing semiconductor production on American soil and has said he is considering raising tariffs on imported semiconductors.

Since taking office in January, he has tried to persuade companies to invest heavily in the USA, and among others, Apple and Oracle have announced investments of thousands of billions of kronor over the coming years.
