60 percent of Norwegians support the monarchy, according to a new opinion poll commissioned by NRK. That's the lowest figure ever.

A month ago, 70 percent answered yes to the same question and the new opinion comes after it was revealed that Crown Princess Mette-Marit's relationship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was more extensive than previously known.

In addition, a trial is underway against her son Marius Borg Høiby, who is charged with several counts of rape.

King Harald, who turns 89 on Saturday, is still very popular, but trust in Crown Princess Mette-Marit has halved in a month - from 7.4 to 3.7 on a ten-point scale.
