US President Donald Trump is threatening "major retaliation" if European countries start selling American assets such as bonds to put pressure on the United States, he said in an interview with Fox Business.

“If that were to happen, there would be a big retaliation from our side, and we hold all the cards,” he said during the interview.

The “Sell the US” trend in the market has been fueled by the president’s many statements regarding Greenland. Earlier this week, US long-term interest rates rose in the wake of strong selling pressure, but rates have since turned downward again.
