Semi-state-owned Business Sweden makes the assessment in a new report that the global GDP growth this year will decrease to 2.6 percent compared to 2.8 percent the previous year.
”Trump's tariffs have a negative impact but are manageable for companies. The uncertainty is significantly more worrying”, says chief economist Lena Sellgren in a press release.
Business Sweden, which, among other things, helps Swedish companies abroad, assesses, however, that the tariffs will primarily harm the American economy and can contribute to uniting Europe.
"The European heads of state and government are now gathering strength for a strong and competitive Europe, while Germany has got a reform-oriented government in place. Thus, there is a rebalancing of the global growth in favor of Europe”, says Lena Sellgren.
