Make America Great Again (Maga) promises are at least many. Over the past year, Republican Trump has made hundreds of promises about what awaits when he returns to the White House. Some of them require legislative changes and therefore congressional approval, while others can be achieved through presidential decrees.

Close borders
Immigration is one of Trump's profile issues, he has long claimed that Joe Biden's administration allows too many to enter the country illegally. Now, he plans to close the US border with Mexico, reintroduce certain controversial entry bans from the previous term, and abolish refugee reception, according to Time. A temporary complete stop to immigration is also reportedly being discussed.

Deport undocumented immigrants
"The largest mass deportation in US history" is set to begin on Trump's first day in office. Exactly how over 11 million undocumented immigrants will be deported, where they will be sent, and whether all will be affected is unclear – but parts of the federal police force are expected to be ordered to work on this.
Trump also wants to repeal the law that states that children born in the US automatically receive citizenship, something he claims is exploited by undocumented migrants.

Many pardons
Helping the supporters who stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, with the aim of stopping the approval of Joe Biden's election victory, is personal for Trump. He has promised to review the over 1,500 convictions case by case, a process that will begin as soon as he takes office. Pardons, possibly even for those convicted of violent crimes, are expected.

Oil drilling and climate
"Drill, baby, drill" has long been a slogan for Trump, who wants to expand domestic oil production and invest in fossil fuels. During his previous term, he called global warming "a hoax", now he is expected to scrap Biden's investments in electric cars and a range of other climate measures.

Low taxes and "shockwaves" in the state budget
The tax cuts Trump introduced in 2017, for both companies and individuals, are set to expire this year and are to be made permanent. Super entrepreneur Elon Musk is to lead the White House unit Doge, which is intended to deregulate and cut hundreds of billions of dollars from the state budget.

Ukraine, NATO, and tariffs
Can Trump deliver on his promise to end the Ukraine war within 24 hours? And does he intend to make good on his threats to try to buy Greenland, incorporate Canada into the US, and rename the Gulf of Mexico?
World leaders are said to be trembling at the unpredictable "Twitter politics" that awaits with Trump, as well as the high tariffs he has promised on goods from several countries. Add to that, he has already demanded that NATO members increase their support for the defense alliance to five percent of GDP.
