The White House will convene Trump's so-called peace council to discuss the next steps, sources told Axios.

According to sources from four countries that accepted the invitation to the negotiating group, the meeting will take place on February 19. The US reportedly wants to push for the transition to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement - and raise money for the reconstruction of Gaza.

The Council currently has 27 members. Most of the invited Western countries, including Sweden, declined to participate.

The day before the planned meeting, US President Donald Trump will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The White House declined to comment on the information.
