Fired White House press secretary Katie Zacharia: It was an honor to work for Trump

After just five days on the job, the White House’s new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, was fired on Friday, according to several media outlets. Now she is speaking out for the first time since the announcement. “It was an honor to work for him,” Zacharia wrote about President Donald Trump on X.

Despite her short time as a Trump employee, Zacharia is full of praise for the president:

"I wish more Americans appreciated him. No one will ever make America as great as he has done and continues to do."

Zacharia’s first - and only - press conference was met with skepticism, partly because she answered only three questions and was clearly nervous. The aftermath has been dominated by questions about whether she is actually a lawyer, as she claimed. She later admitted that she had failed the exam required to become a member of the bar.
