Hunter Hess said at a press conference recently that he had "mixed feelings" about representing the United States at the Olympics, given what is happening domestically in his home country.
"Just because I carry our flag doesn't mean I represent everything that happens in the United States," Hess said, according to American media.
That angered U.S. President Donald Trump.
"Hunter Hess, a complete no-no, says he is not representing the United States in the Olympics. If that is the case, he should not have been in the trials, and it is too bad that he is. It is very difficult to cheer for someone like him," Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social.
